That sibilant sound you just heard was the whoosh of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill closing the door on its latest internal investigation of shenanigans on campus.
In this case, the silence ends an investigation into wrongdoing in the football program of football Head Coach Bill Belichick. The Chapel Hill administration “announced” on Sept. 17 that it had concluded the investigation into reports of inappropriate behavior by Steve Belichick, the coach’s son, who was the Tar Heels’ defensive coordinator. Consequent with the announcement, the younger Belichick resigned, after previously taking medical leave since Aug. 6 for unspecified reasons.
