A newspaper editor with more than three decades of experience has been named editor of The Sanford Herald.
Mark Rogers, 57, of Archdale, began his duties Monday.
“I’m excited to join the staff of The Sanford Herald,” Rogers said. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the people of Sanford and Lee County.”
Rogers was previously the managing editor of Greenville Newspapers, LLC in Greenville, Alabama, where he managed the news operations of The Greenville Advocate, The Luverne Journal and The Lowndes Signal. In 2020, Greenville Newspapers earned 19 awards from the Alabama Press Association including a second-place in general excellence for the Greenville Advocate.
Prior to his time in Greenville, Rogers was the managing editor of The Columbian-Progress in Columbia, Mississippi, for nearly a decade, where he and his staff earned dozens of awards.
