NCPA is offering a free afternoon of media law training—a valuable benefit of your membership—and we’d love for you to join us in person.
On Friday, March 13, we’ll gather at the Embassy Suites in Asheville for a practical, newsroom-focused session led by Mike Tadych and Ashley Fox of Stevens Martin Vaughn & Tadych, PLLC. Mike and Ashley are media law experts who manage the NCPA Legal Hotline and work with journalists across North Carolina every day.
The session will focus on media law issues that matter right now, including:
Open government and transparency
Access to public records and meetings
Legal pitfalls journalists face when reporting on public institutions
To make this as useful as possible, registrants are encouraged to suggest media law topics they’d like discussed. If there’s an issue you’ve run into—or one you’re worried about—this is your chance to put it on the agenda.
