A native of North Carolina, Ashley Fox joined Stevens Martin Vaughn & Tadych PLLC as an associate attorney in June 2024. Immediately prior to joining SMVT, Ashley was a legal fellow at the University of Georgia School of Law’s First Amendment Clinic in Athens, Georgia, where she worked on a variety of matters related to the First Amendment and government transparency. Previously, Ashley served as a term law clerk for Chief Judge Martin Reidinger on the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in 2017, Ashley decided to stay in Chapel Hill, earning both a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and an M.A. in Mass Communication from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media in 2021. While in law school, Ashley was Editor-in-Chief of the First Amendment Law Review, and she worked as a Roy H. Park Fellow at the Hussman School, where she assisted faculty with courses and research projects related to media law and the First Amendment. She also worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at the UNC Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life, where she contributed to the Center’s digital politics project. Ashley has interned with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Department of Justice, and the United States Senate Judiciary Committee. She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar.
