At the end of 2023, ownership of the NC Insider transitioned from The McClatchy Company to State Affairs, Inc., a national company specializing in business-to-business news and data products for public policy professionals. The Insider’s news-sharing partnership with The News & Observer continues, so readers will find The N&O’s legislative and political coverage in the newsletter each morning. The editorial staff of the Insider remains unchanged, and State Affairs intends to hire additional staff to provide the original, must-know news and intelligence that Insider readers have come to count on.
Over the next few months, readers will see technical enhancements to email formatting and to the NCInsider.com website. On the business side, customers will now be invoiced directly by State Affairs and will be able to pay by credit card, ACH or check. Leaders at both McClatchy and State Affairs are confident this change best ensures the future growth and improvement of the Insider, which marked its 30th anniversary in 2023.
