Family-owned daily newspaper, the Goldsboro News-Argus was picked up by Paxton Media Group from Wayne Printing Company Nov. 1. The newspaper serves Wayne County.
Paxton Media Group, headquartered in Kentucky, owns 35 other dailies throughout more than 10 states, including North Carolina.
Now, the News-Argus will be managed by Paxton Media Group Publisher Rick Bean. Paxton Media Group thinks the paper will be more financially secure and in a better position to serve readers and advertisers.
"Joining Paxton Media Group is a very positive development," said Hal Tanner III, president and publisher of Wayne Printing Co.
"David and Jamie Paxton are astute newspaper operators and are well respected in the industry," he said. "I am confident that the Paxtons will continue to support the high-quality journalism and advertising solutions Wayne County expects from this newspaper."
