The Washington Post today announced the launch of The Post’s new daily Discover Edition on Snapchat, which will make the company the first editorial partner to provide multiple news updates throughout the day on the platform and seven days a week. The edition will be live in the U.S., Canada, and UK.

“We’re excited to be the most up-to-date news source on Discover, publishing important and interesting content that Snapchatters can engage with,” said Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, managing editor for The Post. “As we invest more in the platform, we look forward to growing an even larger audience.”

In Discover, The Post will focus on producing fast, visually captivating and experiential storytelling. The Post will take readers behind-the-scenes, both nationally and around the world, in highly curated editions that feature breaking news, top political headlines and smart, forward-thinking analysis.

“With news breaking out of Washington at a faster pace than ever, we’re thrilled that Snapchatters will now have access to The Washington Post’s expansive political coverage through multiple news updates daily,” said Nick Bell, Vice President of Content for Snap Inc.

Washington Post journalists were among the first to adopt Snapchat for reporting on the campaign trail and for breaking news by capturing the Baltimore riots.
