Top WRAL reporter moves to nonprofit journalism site

Laura Leslie, who has been among the state’s best-known political journalists as the capitol bureau chief at Raleigh’s WRAL, is the new editor at NC Newsline, a part of the States Newsroom nonprofit.

Leslie has worked for the past 14 years for WRAL, the Triangle’s NBC television affiliate, owned by the Goodmon family. She led the launch of NC Capitol, which covers politics and state government policies for TV, online, podcasts and social media, which WRAL says was the first such venture by a TV station nationally.
