Tim Grieve to step down as vice president of news

McClatchy's Tim Grieve will leave his position Nov. 7, after midterm elections. He is not straying too far from the field, as his next venture will involve the media. 

McClatchy's regional editors will now report to Craig Forman, president and CEO of the corporation. Forman feels prepared for the leadership change thanks to Tim Grieve and his aid in increasing audience reach and emphasizing local journalism to keep public officials accountable, skills that have made McClatchy successful. 

Andrew Pergam, vice president of video and new ventures, will supervise the News Desks, day-to-day news operations and the Newsroom Reinvention team. He has helped McClatchy advance in video and technology content, and Forman looks forward to what Pergam will accomplish in his new supervisor role.
