The News Media Alliance has been monitoring research on the powerful impact that print and digital publications can have on the audience they reach. In their summary they feature data from Kantar Media and its "Dimension 2018" report. Overall, the data illustrate that news media is the most powerful it has ever been.

One of the findings suggests that, overall, people still enjoy turning to traditional media sources such as print newspapers and magazines, television and radio for their news. The research findings continue to shed light on other topics such as how receptive viewers are to advertisements. For the most part, the future of news media looks bright according to this study.
