The News Media Alliance has been monitoring research on the powerful impact that print and digital publications can have on the audience they reach. In their summary they feature data from Kantar Media and its "Dimension 2018" report. Overall, the data illustrate that news media is the most powerful it has ever been.
One of the findings suggests that, overall, people still enjoy turning to traditional media sources such as print newspapers and magazines, television and radio for their news. Even if the digital world beckons younger news consumers, there is still a large portion of the population that relies on the mediums that have been around for generations. In tune with this finding, another part of the study showed more than twice as many participants trusted print sources more than social media for their news.
The research findings continue to shed light on other topics such as how receptive viewers are to advertisements. For the most part, the future of news media looks bright according to this study.
