A Happy Thanksgiving to all our newspaper friends
Thursday is that great American feast called Thanksgiving. Because of the holiday we’re sending out this week’s e-press a day earlier as we seriously doubt any of our faithful readers will have time Thursday. And while we’re in this holiday spirit, NCPA and NCPS want to thank all of you for your commitment and support for our industry. We all need to be thankful for the hard work that many have done in the past and the present to keep citizens informed and help our local business communities with opportunities to grow and prosper. Indeed, despite tough times, we all have a lot of reasons to give thanks.

Speaking of thank yous…
Since last week we are down to needing front pages from just 60 of our members. To refresh your memory, NCPA needs a PDF or JGP of a front page from each of our member newspapers. We’ll use these pages not only for the montage at the Winter Institute, but for the first time we’ll be including these images in the 2010 Newspaper Directory. Don’t be left out! Click here to get a list of the front pages we still need. If your paper is on the list, please send a front ASAP to john@ncpress.com.

We’ve got another date for your calendar
You may have already noticed the calendar to the left has the addition of the 2010 Newspaper Academy. The date is April 29, which is the fifth Thursday of that month. Newspaper Academy is a collaboration between your NCPA and the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication. For a low fee members of your news and advertising staff may attend four sessions in one day taught by respected instructors. See you there.
