Beat reporter with a talent for writing and who is not afraid of multimedia, sought by the New Bern Sun Journal, the torchbearer in the town that was home to North Carolina's first newspaper. The job will go to the best applicant, with job description to be built around who we hire. We're a Freedom Communications newspaper and heavily invested in community news, both in print and online (newbernsj.com). The job is full-time with benefits, and as last hired you'd be the Saturday reporter, too (just being up front about it). New Bern is a riverfront town, near a national forest and an hour drive from the beach. E-mail a cover letter, resume and work samples to Managing Editor Randy Foster at rfoster@freedomenc.com.
