The Fayetteville Observer is looking for a District Manager for our Circulation Department. The District Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the newspaper within an assigned geographic area through the use of independent contractors. He/She must maintain defined standards of customer service, and promote increased circulation through individual and team efforts.
Recruits, contracts, and guides an independent contractor carrier force to insure quality service to subscribers/vendors
Develops and implements sales efforts aimed at increasing home delivery circulation.
Responds to customer complaints and works to resolve complaints quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer. Maintains company records as needed, including accurate and up-to-date route delivery lists.
Delivers open routes as needed.
Ensures that all equipment on single copy routes is well-maintained.
Work one weekend as duty manager as part of an 6-week rotation.
Constantly analyze and evaluate route delivery for maximum efficiency. Restructure route boundaries as necessary.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
The Candidate for this position should have a minimum of two years of sales/marketing experience. Management experience is required. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point computer programs. Candidate must have a good driving record and the ability to follow all department and company policies. College Degree with a concentration in sales and/or marketing is preferred.
